Ginkgo Products May Contain Lead

ConsumerLab finds lead in some products.
an article by Susan Taney, N.P.

Ginkgo biloba is a popular herbal used to improve circulation for a variety of intended outcomes. The maladies for which there has been research documenting benefit include Altzheimer's Disease and non-Altzheimer's Dimentia as well as Intermittent Claudication, a painful circulatory problem of the lower extermities. Healthy individuals take it to enhance memory and mental function. Other uses that have been proposed are circulatory complications of diabetes, Raynaud's Phenomena, an intermittent numbing and painful constriction of the blood vessels in the hands and feet, depression, PMS, vertigo and some eye disorders.

ConsumerLab contracted with credentialed academic and commercial laboratories to do blinded tests of many of the Ginkgo biloba products that are on health food, and other store shelves. Many did not contain the amount of the active ingredient that was claimed on the bottle, most of those being about 50% less. Lead was found in three. It's one thing to be ripped off; it's quite a different thing to be poisoned by something taken with the promise to promote health!

If you have these products listed below, please throw them away and don't trust them again. Ginkgo biloba that truly is tested and guaranteed for potency and purity can be ordered through this web site from ViTAL NUTRIENTS. Your life and health is too precious to tolerate less.
